Torsemide Tablets (10/20/40mg) IP is used to help treat fluid retention (edema) and swelling that is caused by congestive heart failure, liver disease, kidney disease. It belongs to the group of medicines called loop diuretics (water pills). This medicine works by acting on the kidneys to increase the flow of urine.Torasemide is used in the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure), Heart failure, Edema and high blood calcium level. It treats oedema (fluid overload) associated with heart, liver, kidney or lung disease.Torasemide is a diuretic. It removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced.Tablet helps your body get rid of extra water and salt through urine. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines as per the dose advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. It is best to avoid taking this medicine within 4 hours of your bedtime to prevent having to get up at night to urinate.
