Flurbiprofen Sodium with Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose is a combination of two medicines: flurbiprofen and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose which relieve dry and irritated eyes. Flurbiprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that causes pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is a lubricating formulation similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief of burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye.Flurbiprofen+hypromellose belongs to the class of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to prevent the pupil from narrowing or constricting during eye surgery. Also, Flurbiprofen+hypromellose is used to treat postoperative pain and swelling of the eye.
